Here are some miscellaneous photos from the past few weeks from assorted assignments.

Adam Fuechsl of Hoffman Estates takes part in the Laps for Love fundraiser Saturday at Knox Park Pool in McHenry. Four swimmers swam laps for 90 minutes to raise money for Collier House, a safe retreat in Wyoming for families impacted by addictions, war and grief.
Festival goers traverse a bridge on a ride at Summer Sunset Festival in Lake in the Hills festival on Sunday.
State's attorney Lou Bianchi discusses plans for the First Offender Diversion Program on Monday at the McHenry County Government Center in Woodstock. The program targets those who were arrested for a felony charge for the first time.

Chicago Bandit pitcher Jennie Finch warms up during the fifth inning against the Tennessee Diamonds at Judson University in Elgin on Sunday. The two-time Olympic medalist and Chicago Bandits pitching star is retiring from softball at the end of this season to spend more time with her family. The Bandits fell to the Diamonds 4-2.

Paul Hain gives six-month old granddaughter Luci Whiteford a kiss at his home in Spring Grove on Monday afternoon. Hain will be retiring Sept. 30 from his post as business manager for Nippersink District 2, where he's been since 2004 and over the past few years helped lead the effort to carry the district out of more than $3 million debt. Hain plans on spending more time with family in his retirement.
