where your chocolate comes from

Like chocolate? This is where it comes from, the cacao tree:
The seeds look like this in the inside and have a bitter taste
They are then fermented to develop the flavor, then dried, cleaned and roasted. The bean is 50% cocoa butter and 50% pure chocolate.
We visited a chocolate plantation and tasted chocolate at each step of the process
Here it is being mixed with sugar
White chocolate is basically added sugar and milk but no cocoa solids, milk chocolate is with added milk. Dark chocolate is the best for you and really does boost your serotonin levels, so go have a piece!

Interesting fact: Norway is the country that eats the most chocolate annually, about 35 pounds per person. Brazil is second.
