Go here: Matapalo, known for some of the
best surfing in Costa Rica. Located on the Osa Peninsula
in southwest Costa Rica on the Pacific Ocean, Osa is known as one of the
most biologically intense places on earth,
and home to at least half of all species living in Costa Rica. Whales,
turtles, flocks of macaws, monkeys, insects... they were all there in
this rugged part of the country that also makes up part of the Corcovado
National Park. We stayed at an incredible place called Ojo del Mar,
completely off the grid. No electricity, candles for light, completely
sustainable, eco-friendly and run by a charming German woman from Munich
named Nico, who also wrote a book on sustainable living. Definitely one
of the coolest trips ever!
